I suppose we must be happy with a draw after an off colour display in Rathcooney today. We were under pressure from the kick off conceding a penalty after two mins. We had a chance to level matters after 13 mins, but Aidan Tobin's difficult kick into the wind just drifted wide.
Worse was to follow on the half hour mark, when concerted pressure by the visitors yielded a converted try.
Just before the break, Aidan Tobin opened our account with a fine kick into the wind, however there was still time for us to concede another penalty chance which luckily went wide.
Most of use felt we would use the very strong wind to play for territory in the second half, but it did not work out that way. Four mins into the second half, a fine run by Peter Twomey led to a penalty which Aidan Tobin converted. Stuart Lee just failed to reach his own flykick and on the 13 min mark, before Brendan Culloty won a line out in the visitors 22 and a well organised maul drove all the way over the line with Paul McGrath touching down.
Aidan Tobin's fine kick tied the scores at 13 all, but once again we conceded a penalty which was missed but the next one conceded was taken to push Kinsale 3 points ahead again.
With a couple of minures to go however, Aidan Tobin levelled matters with a fine kick.
To look on the positive side, getting two points while playing badly is not the end of the world as our fate is in our own hands.
