Clonakilty 15 vs Old Christians 0

Clonakilty, 12:00PM

A scrappy game saw us bow out of the Under 14 Cup semi-final in Clonakilty this morning.
The home side had the better of the opening stages, but good defense saw Christians lift the siege. Disaster struck on twelve minutes however. We were in the Clon half, but a loose pass was intercepted and the home team scored under the posts.
There was no more scoring until just before the break, when the West Cork side added a penalty and we trailed 10 to 0 at the break.
By this time, Clon had run up an incredible penalty count, but it was not until well into the second half that the ref decided to take action, when two yellow cards were shown.
It must be said that none of the fouls were for dirty play, but the constant offsides, side entry at rucks and general ill dicipline, mainly from the home side, meant this was a poor scrappy game.
Despite the best efforts of Josh and Jamie, we could never really get into the game and Clon closed it out with a late try to finish deserving winners by 15 to 0.
