Thurles v Girls

Old Christian ladies traveled to Thurles Sunday 26th Jan to take on their girls.

We started poorly and Thurles had a try in the corner after 2 minutes. This woke up our girls and with some great tackling and rucking we came storming back into the game. 2 tries from the Desmond sisters, Roisin and Maebh both converted by Sarah O’C saw us lead at half time by 14 points to 5. We started the second half strongly and when Sarah put over a penalty the game looked to have been won. We relaxed and Thurles came roaring back into the game  with 2 tries to leave the score Thurles 17 – 15 Old Christians and only 5 minutes to go, this stung the girls back to life and and our tackling, rucking and carrying all went up a notch. With a scrum and great carries from Jodie, Meabh and Alana we set up a period of pressure on their line with Alana crashing over helped by Ciara. 

Great game and fantastic support for our captain Rebecca. Everybody contributed to a great win in our first game this season.
