First game of the season.

On Saturday Old Christians hosted a travelling Welsh side from Swansea Loughor RFC. It was a feast of tries for anyone watching. The visitors opened up the scoring with 2 tries in quick succession both converted. Oscar finally opened up the scoring for Old Chrisitians followed by Josh which brought us to 14 all and the first of 4 times that we were level. The visitior scored another try which was answered by Connor Drummy and converted by Rob, the visitors scored another try this one unconverted we answered with a try in the corner by our winger Connor which left us level at half time. Old Christians 26 – 26 Loughor.
The second half got underway with Oscar scoring putting us ahead for the first time in the match this was quickly answered by the visitor levelling the score once again. Oscar burst through and scored between the posts for his 3rd try of the game Rob was injured leading up to the score so Stephen stepped up to take the conversion putting us ahead again 40 – 33. The visitor were next on the score sheet with an unconverted try followed by Connor Drummys second try converted by Adam. 47- 38 That was the last time we were ahead the visitors rounded out the match with 2 more score a converted and an unconverted try. The ref blew the whistle to end the game at 47 to 50.
We all went to the club house for a delicious feast prepared by the ladies committee the Loughor team presented our coaches with commetrative glassware and our captain Jake and their pick for man of the match Josh.
We in turn presented them with jerseys and a pair of socks for the ref who did a fine job on the day and let the game flow.
All in all it was a great day we have 4 friendlies coming up in the month of september first away to Ballincollig on 7th. Away to highfield on 14th. We are hosting Bruff on the 21st and Skibbereen on the 28th.
