The J1’s had their first game since lock down its been a long 5 months away from training and even longer time away from playing. We got back training during August and the hard work the boys put in during lock down and after is beginning to pay off. We hosted Cobh in Rathcooney for a rather one sided friendly.
Laz opened the scoring and ran in 3 tries before half time.
The half time score was 32 nil.
The second half didn’t go any better for Cobh Laz ran in two more tries followed by John Purcell with another two. The try of the match was scored by Jeff Hodder with an excellent finish. Liam Carty also got over the line with the ball. Cobh did manage to claw one converted try back.
The final score was Old Christians 71 (9 tries) and Cobh 7 (1 try).
Excellent way for the lads to get back into the swing of things. The under 20’s all got a run out on the day. Its looking good for our own Under 20s we have good numbers still space for a few more if your looking to keep fit.
Thanks to everyone for complying with the ongoing covid restrictions if we all do our bit we can all keep doing what we love doing. Rugby!
