Roy Reddin R.I.P.

Reddin (Myrtleville) On April 23rd 2020, suddenly at Cork University Hospital after a short illness, Roy (Gardner, late of Old Christians R.F.C.), beloved husband of Frances and loving father of Frances, Christina and Natasha. Sadly missed by his loving family, sisters Grace and Norma, brothers-in-law Barry, Jim and Dave, sisters-in-law Maria, Annette, Georgina and Michelle, extended family and friends.

I suppose to those of us who go back a long way, Roy was a bit of a character.

Roy was in his early fifties.

This picture is from my old files

A few words from team mate Benji Deane,

Hi Dave,
Hope you are well in these trying times?
It’s a great pity we cant’t give Roy a fitting send off because of the current restrictions. We all share fond memories of Roy, and I would have been there when he first appeared  at the club back in the early days when he was a larger than life character! Roy didn’t say much, but when he did speak it was worth waiting for, and he certainly didn’t suffer fools!
I found an old cut out pic from early 1992.. Roy actually played blind side flanker that day and had a fine game in what was a great league victory!

Best wishes

Roy is in the back row in the picture last on the right as we look at it, next to a very young Hotshot.
