Great win for U18 Ladies

Our Under 18 Ladies team entertained Mallow in the second round of the cup and came out on top on a scoreline of 37-27.

Congratulations to the team and a special word for Majella and Don.

Old Christians 37(7 tries) Mallow 27(5 tries)

This was a hard fought victory but well deserved. Our first home Cup Match and a really good game.
Coaches Majella and Don were really pleased and proud of our team and their discipline in tough conditions.

The game ebbed and flowed from end to end and some of the tackling and rucking was very impressive. A Player of the Match performance by Roisin who would have put Josh Van der Flier to shame, with about 40 tackles and some great rucking as well as capping it off with a great try.

Other great tackles came from Darcy and Fiadh when Mallow seemed certain to score.

This was a team performance and everyone played their part. Leading by 22 to 15 at half time we had a couple of injuries and were down to 13 against 14 for the last 15 minutes. The pack stood up to
enormous pressure and coped with everything thrown at them by a formidable Mallow set of forwards.
The backs tackled and chased everything and were up for all challenges thrown at them. Mallow tried hard to get back into game but every time they scored we responded and eventually we got our reward . Laura
Leigh was her usual attacking powerhouse and got 3 tries and the other scorers were Maebh(2) , Fiadh and a conversion from Sarah (kicking conditions were terrible in a high wind).

The next match is a semi final against Ennis RFC on Saturday the 16th of March at 10.30 in Rathcooney.
Please support your ladies team.
